Pippins Visit

We are learning about fruit and vegetables. We walked to Pippins today. Amy talked to us about different vegetables. Stuart talked to us about different varieties of apples and pears. Did you know that apples and pears are cousins!

 There are a variety of apples and pears, and they are cousins!

 Stuart showed us the apple picking bag.

 The fruit goes into a wooden crate. It is then taken to the pack house.

 Stuart uses a special cherry picker to pick the apples.

 The loppers are used to prune the trees.

 We had to pick our own apple. We had to hold the apple, then push it up so it came off the tree with the stem in place.
