Maths

 We are learning about a 1/2 and a 1/4. We had to share the orange with 4 people. We cut it in 4 pieces. Each person got 1/4. There are 4 1/4's in a whole orange.

 We had to share pretend lollies with our buddy. We had to get half each. We had to get the same number of lollies each.

Maui and the Sun.

It is Maori Language Week. We acted out Maui and the Sun. Look at our ra floating in the sky.

Laptops.

Well done Room 11. The older children had to teach the new children how to use the laptop. They had to teach them to open the laptop lid, to start the laptop, to open Kidpix, to use the drawing tools, to colour a background, to type their name and how to shut down the laptop.

They also had to take turns! Well done everyone. Look at the great pictures they made together!

 We have 21 children in Room 11. We have 14 boys and 7 girls!

 We are learning about 1/2's in maths. John is joining fish halves together. He can match the dots on each half so they are the same.

 Josie, Cervantes and Rutene can add 2 dice together. You have a 5 and have to add the other dice with it. We say, " 5 and 3 makes 8." Then we put a counter on the number on the turtle.

Prestin can continue patterns with the beads.
